Nine digital media organizations, from the North East region, have together formed a new association to provide a unique platform for members to voice their concerns.
On its new website, the association said: “The main objectives of the association are to promote, assist, encourage, develop and protect the interests of members of the Indian digital news media industry. We defend and protect the freedom of the press. in India. Provide a unique platform for members to voice their concerns, ”according to media reports.
The president-elect for the association was Sujata Gurung Chowdhury (Northeast Now), Afrida Hussain (InsideNE) became its director and Jayanta Deka (The News Mill) was elected general secretary.
On August 21, the Northeastern Association for Communication and Digital Media (NADCOM) confirmed that the association was registered with the Ministry of Commercial Affairs as a non-profit company.
In its statement, Nadcom listed the founding members of the association which included East Mojo, G Plus, InsideNE, Northeast Now, Time8 and The News Mill, based in Guwahati; The Northeast Today (TNT) based in Shillong, Hub News based in Garo Hills and The Sikkim Chronicle based in Gangtok.
