Adobe has partnered with the Rare Non-Fungible Token (NFT) mainstream market and a handful of other popular NFT markets to provide input to artists and improve the authenticity of digital art created using the Adobe’s Creative Cloud (CC) suite, which includes Photoshop and Stock. . Adobe users can link their accounts to their social media profiles or crypto wallets. If they then sell their art as NFT, marketplaces will be able to show a digital certificate based on the credentials verified by Adobe. These verified credentials will also be linked to Adobe’s online wallet portal – Behance.
Adobe likes to call this feature âcontent credentials,â which essentially captures identity data when an image is edited on Creative Cloud software and stores it as metadata. The feature is optional, and the company has launched a website where the identifying metadata of images can be verified. The whole process was created and streamlined “to combat disinformation with attribution and verifiable veracity of the content”. The feature is first rolled out to Photoshop users in beta mode.

Two years ago, Adobe co-founded the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) to fight visual disinformation and protect creators through digital provenance. Rarible and a few other NFT markets like KnownOrigin, OpenSea, and SuperRare are joining CAI to help present publicly visible content credential metadata. Over the past two years, the Content Authenticity Initiative has brought together over 375 members, including the BBC, Getty Images, Microsoft, Nikon and many more.
Thanks to Content Credentials and CAI, the creators of NFT will also have the option of hosting their work under a pseudonym, choosing to display crypto addresses linked to their online identity or to real social media profiles.
Will Allen, Adobe vice president in charge of Behance, noted that Adobe was not interested in building its own NFT marketplace. “We’re just focusing on allowing these creators to showcase their work.
