Tell us about Konica Minolta’s performance in office products?
Konica Minolta India recorded impressive business growth across all of its business units in 2018, reaching revenue of 693 crore. At 18%, our year-over-year growth was also well above the overall industry average. We experienced robust growth in the office products segment, which accounted for 35% of our total revenue in 2018-19. Konica Minolta currently has a 16% market share in the office products segment. In 2018-19, the overall market for office products grew by 26%.
What are the recent advances in digital printing technology?
Digitization remains the main engine of growth for the printing industry. Innovative digital printing products are adopted at a rapid pace due to their improved operational efficiency, transparent workflows, lower printing costs, and minimal waste. Digital printing also allows a high level of personalization and superior print quality. This corresponds to the current needs of the market, which is evolving towards greater customization and greater fluidity. In the future, we can expect increased demand for smart products built on cutting-edge digital technologies such as cloud and mobility. How do you plan to further strengthen growth and service offerings?
On the business side, we will follow a multi-pronged strategy to further accelerate our current growth path. To begin with, we are looking to strengthen our presence in the field and are already in the process of strengthening our distribution network. We are also making significant investments in workforce and skills development across India with dedicated sales and service training programs for our direct teams and partners.
We will further focus on BTL and digital activities, roadshows and participation in exhibitions to increase our brand presence in the Indian market. This will help us establish a stronger presence in the SME, Enterprise and Government segments while strengthening our leadership position in core verticals with desktop MFsP and solutions.
What are the company’s future plans and the next phase of growth?
Currently our main goal is to improve Konica Minolta’s brand image in India and make it the preferred OEM for all digital printing requirements. In order to reach a turnover target of 1,000 crore by 2022-2023, we are also increasing our operations at all levels, from our distribution strategy to product innovation.
What new products / solutions does Konica Minolta plan to roll out in the near future?
