IGNOU presents the new PG diploma program
The School of Journalism and New Media Studies (SOJNMS) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced a new Postgraduate Diploma Program in Digital Media. Students can enroll in the new one-year PG Diploma Program in Digital Media (PGDIDM) starting in the July 2021 session and will take place in open and remote mode.
IGNOU’s PG Diploma in Digital Media aims to facilitate learners in three specific areas of new emerging media platforms based on information and communication technologies – conceptual framework on digital media, online journalism practices and digital and Internet search techniques through big data analysis and data mining. , according to an official statement.
In addition, according to the IGNOU press release, this program explores the role of digital media education in empowerment processes. The program aims to address the interrelationship between digital media and society in the Indian context and the emergence of social media, information and communication technologies for development and digital inequality issues. As every sphere of professional work has been integrated with digital technology, learners with advanced knowledge of managing technological environments improve their employability, he added.
At the launch of the new PG diploma program, Professor Nageshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, in his presidential address, highlighted the role of digital media in today’s world. Complimenting the school on the launch of the program, Hee said the program imparts skills and provides jobs that are in line with the new education policy.

Students with a bachelor’s degree can register for the PG diploma program on ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in before July 31, 2021. Although the registration fee is Rs 200, the annual fee for the PGDIDM program is of Rs 5,000.
