United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) country representative Young Hong called on young people in Malawi to use digital media to promote improved and improved sexual and reproductive health rights.

Hong made the call to Lilongwe when she launched a digital media arts accelerator training program on Thursday.
The program was started to support the skills of young people through the use of digital media – artistic skills – to express what they are feeling visually with the rest of the world.

Hong observed that during the Covid-19 pandemic last year, many young people were denied the opportunity to learn and earn a living due to restrictions imposed by governments as one of the measures to contain the pandemic.
âSo we realized that access to the digital world is very essential for them to be able to navigate and earn a living while ensuring access to opportunities. So we made the decision to invest in young people who want to learn and who also want to be agents of change through, âshe said.
One of the interns, Natalia Govati, praised the program, saying it is a game-changer for young people.
